Instrument Introduction:

Our factory produces the HM-QW6 six stage sieve impact air microbial sampler, which is a dual function multi-stage impact sampler. It can be widely used for monitoring in environments such as hygiene and epidemic prevention, biological cleanliness, pharmaceuticals, fermentation industry, as well as for sampling and researching air microorganisms in relevant research and teaching departments. It provides a basis for evaluating the hazards of air environmental microbial pollution and its prevention and control measures.

The HM-QW6 six stage sieve impact air microbial sampler simulates the anatomical structure and aerodynamic physiological characteristics of the human respiratory tract. Based on the principle of inertial impact sampling, microbial particles suspended in the air are collected at different levels on the surface of the sampling medium for cultivation and microbiological analysis.

The entire instrument consists of an impactor, a main unit (flow meter), a timer, and a tripod. The impactor is a 6-layer aluminum alloy disk with tiny holes. Place the agar plates on top of the discs, with sealing rings between each disc. The discs are firmly connected together using three spring hooks. Each disc has 400 small holes arranged in a circular pattern, decreasing layer by layer and with precise dimensions. The standard sampling flow rate is 1 cubic foot (28.3 L/min). When the airflow containing microbial particles enters the top sampling port, due to the increasing height of the airflow layer by layer, microbial particles of different sizes collide with the corresponding agar surfaces according to aerodynamic characteristics. The size range of particles captured at each level is determined by the airflow velocity of the holes in that level and the particle interception rate of the previous level. The particles captured by the upper respiratory tract in levels 1 and 2 are similar to those captured by humans, and the particles captured by the lower respiratory tract in levels 3 to 6 are similar to those captured by humans. This largely replicates the penetration and deposition of these particles in the respiratory tract.

Instrument features:

The HM-QW6 six stage sieve impact air microbial sampler is not only capable of measuring the number of air microorganisms, but also has the unique feature of measuring the size of these particles, which is one of the important indicators for determining the harm of air microorganisms. It is composed of six impactors combined into one, with each stage actually being a single-stage sampler. Using the principle of six repeated impacts, the vast majority of particles, especially those settling in the trachea and lungs, are basically impacted. Therefore, the particle size range it collects is naturally wider than that of single-stage impactors, which is unmatched by some single-stage impactors. Moreover, the circular nozzle of the sampler has higher sampling efficiency than the slit nozzle. The relative humidity increases step by step during sampling (from 39% in the first level to 88% in the sixth level), which is very beneficial for the survival of fragile pathogenic microorganisms, especially virus particles. Due to its unique characteristics, it has been widely and effectively used for monitoring airborne microorganisms, and has been widely used since its inception. Recommended by experts as an international standard sampler.
